I love this time of year when summer starts to appear.

Butโ€ฆโ€ฆa lot of people dread it. Why? Summer outfits and showing off your winter bodies ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Yes we all gain a Few lbs in the winter - including me.

Donโ€™t stress though! You still have plenty of time to turn that winter body into a summer one.

Will Running Ruin my Knees in later life?๐Ÿ˜ฌ

This is a question a lot of people ask and Iโ€™ve also considered. ๐Ÿค”

The simple answer is no. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ

According to Homa Arshad, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hip and Knee Surgery โ€œRunning is good, safe and healthy,โ€. Homa confirms. โ€œIt isnโ€™t bad for the knees, per se. It has huge benefits for the whole body, and can actually be very good for the knees.โ€

Many studies have shown that running like weight training can actually help to keep your joints lubricated and stimulates cartilage production. These studies have also shown that running helps the cartilage to become more resilient as it adapts to the intensity of running.โ€

If you are getting injured from running it is more likely your technique or the shoes you are wearing than running itself.

So get your running shoes out and download the couch to 5k and unleash the runner in you. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ
