About Me
Hi, I’m Karen Savage,
I am a Relationship Therapist based in Sutton, Surrey, working with couples and individuals, helping them explore themselves, their relationships and the patterns that can sometimes leave them feeling stuck, disconnected or overwhelmed.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as your whole self – without judgement, shame or the need to explain or justify who you are.
My Journey into Therapy
My own journey of self-discovery began in 2016, and helped me understand how complex, emotional and transformative personal change can be. This experience deepened my passion for supporting people as they try to understand themselves, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped them.
I know that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step. My aim is to offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can explore what is happening in your life at your own pace.
My Experience
Alongside my private practice, I have experience supporting people with relationship difficulties, trauma, domestic abuse, identity exploration, and emotional challenges.
My work at Sutton Women’s Centre, a local domestic abuse charity, deepened my understanding of how experiences of safety, trust and past relationships can shape the way we connect with ourselves and others.
I am particularly passionate about helping people understand these experiences with compassion and develop healthier ways of relating.
My Training
I am a Level 7 qualified Therapeutic Counsellor and have completed my MSc in Therapeutic Counselling at the University of Greenwich.
I have undertaken additional specialist training in:
- Couples and partnership counselling – Cedars Therapy Institute
- Trauma-informed approaches
- EFT (Tapping)
- Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
- Hypnotherapy
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their Ethical Framework.
